lollie bags

For my birthday day this year I convinced a bunch of fantastic friends to join me for lunch by the water at Manly. As per usual for winter, it turned out to be a rainy, windy and all round yuck day. So I thought it was only fair to reward them with little gifts for them all to much on whilst they all ventured home. Final product above!
I did have fun baking and putting these together.
Everyone loved them. It's not very after you get lollie bags when attending a 25th birthday celebration!

Wedding Invite

Well you could have imagined my delight and excitement when this lovely
little brown envelope turned up on my doorstep yesterday afternoon.
It was a very creative looking, hand made/crafted wedding invite from
some dear friends of ours Simon & Michelle who are due to wed this October.
In such excitement I jumped on the phone to inform my dear friend that I have received my invite in the mail and I was happily filling out my RSVP card as the conversation was took place.
The lovely Shell informed me, that not only had she handmade all the invites herself
(not even I did that), but wait - it gets better.....she hand stitched the design into a card first,
scanned it to make the template and then added the text around it.
WOW! What a crafty little one.
Michelle I'm so proud of you! You have defiantly inspired me with this one.
If only I was getting married (again). Until then I'll have to add this one to
my inspiration wall (the fridge at present) and continue to marvel at your handy work.

New house!

Well with great excitement I signed my life away on the purchased of my very first home last Friday. Buying your first home is full of so many emotions! It was one of the most intense days of my life. I have to be honest - it out me wedding day to shame.

But what comes next is even better. The chance to decorate it!!!

We're lucky enough to have purchased something that needs a little TLC & I have plenty to give.

After walking out of Bunnings with a rather large handful of paint samples, I have finlay made up my mind in that department and am now on the hunt for new dining table! Don't mind what it is, as long as it looks good under this little gem (pictured above) I purchased this week amongst all my still stirring excitement. I found it here.

Hot Choccie

When I’m not enjoying me morning caffeine hit or my evening night cap (the caffeine has lots its effect on me already)I am sometimes tempted by the sweet aroma of hot chocolate.
Along with the perks of being married to a Barista, not only can he produce amazing coffee but he also very talented at whipping up those amazing cafe style hot chocolate.
Let’s be honest -it kicks MILO in the butt! And it always topped off with some osrt of beautifully milk textured Rosetta/leaf design.

YUM!

Which draw did I put that top in again?

Oh - the joys of Sunday cleaning!
If you’re anything like me cleaning up mean just shoving things where they can’t be seen. Out of sight out of mind, right?!
When I stumbled across this above images, I couldn’t help but be inspired to the concept that it might just make my problems of finding stuff a little easier. I’m very creatively minded and the fact that the draws are all different colours and sizes might just make my right brain remember where the heck I put some of the things I hide away.
If would be fun to create something similar and put it to the test. I’ll add it o the TO DO LIST and let know. Not to mention the amazing statement it could make in your bedroom.

Poppies for Grace is a Melbourne based long time love of mine. Although I have never met the amazingly talented and inspiring combo I am proud to say that they are 'friends of friends'. That's good enough for me (at the moment).
There inspiring story of the two fulfilling their dream - temps me nearly every day to just pack up things and do what I love. To create! Trust me I have tempted many times.
In the meantime, I'll just continue to browse through their website and be inspired. For all thing paper check out - http://www.poppiesforgrace.com/. You can alwaystake a browse through their 'You and me' blog. It's just been added to my favourites list.

Happy Friday!

Wishing you a very happy Friday. I have to say that there is no such day that I love more than a Friday. Specaily if if comes around as fast as the Monday before it did. In my case this week it did. Although there were more days in between, they seemed to go by rather fast.

Today was an exceptionally good one for me. Being a little quieter in the office meant more time to work on other things. With the help of my friend Raymondo (my work Buddy) and he's amazing and very productive Photo shop tutorials I managed to take on some new talents. One being the amazing new header for the top of the page - not bad for a first timer. Although I think Ray very quickly realised he'd created a monster when my hand would wave urgently from behind my computer screen to summon him over to answer those once very difficult questions of " how do I make it look like that".

The end result was nothing but smiles all round. I'm sure there will be many more designs to come!

Havng just finished off the night off with a dinner & drinks with a lovely bunch of people we call friends.

Pink comes in flat pack!

Today fab find is these amazing 'flat pack' bowls that I stumbled across. I just love them! In fact I might just purchase some.
Sculpt your very own original work of art with this set of 3 paper airvases. Designed by Torafu Architects in Japan, airvase is made from thin and lightweight paper that is remarkably flexible – it is reversible and collapsible and once the airvase is extended it can be shaped any number of ways. And see how the colours change depending on what angle you view the airvase from… shh, it’s a secret of the unique weave design. This set includes 3 airvases that come flat and ready for you to shape.

Pottery Class

Inspired by the beautiful & delicate deign of Samantha Robinson I decided to get my hands dirty and do some crafty work of my own.

So thanks to the great-ness of Macquarie community college I enrolled in a full 8 week semister pottery class. All I can say is that I'm far from the elegance of the below images from Samantha, but we a bit more inspiration and a lot more kneading of the clay I'm sure I'm not that far off.

With her studio a stones throw from Bondi how could Samantha Robinson not be inspired?

You can find Samantha at Paddington markets in Sydneys stunning Paddington every Saturday or for enquiries click here for her website and drop her a line.

the new look

Well Florence has undergone some changes.
I'm not usually one who likes changes, but I really felt that it was needed.
I hope you enjoy the new look and layout.
more to come
